With a huge admiration of Damien Hirst and his work, I drew inspiration and designed a concept project, an opening night invitation for a retrospective exhibition at the Gagosian Gallery. Death, a common theme in Hirst’s work, is illustrated by tools such as pharmaceuticals and medicine. In a Hirst piece, various types of pills may correspond with types of death. Drawing on medicine as the main idea, I designed his signature works into pills and created a package to hold them. Having recipients open the packages and remove the pills in order to read the event’s invitation would be a unique and memorable gesture.
